Community Choir rehearsals underway
Concert set for Dec. 1
The Mount Gilead Community Choir is in rehearsals for its annual Christmas concert, set for Sun., Dec. 1 at 3 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, Mount Gilead. This year's concert will be divided into two sections – the first featuring a variety of secular works, and the second comprised of a cantata entitled "Let Heaven and Nature Sing Gloria!", arranged by Mark Hayes.
Community Choir presents Christmas concert
The Mount Gilead Community Choir presented its 18th annual Christmas concert Sun., Dec. 2, 2012, in the Sanctuary of First Baptist Church, Mount Gilead.
The concert, entitled What Sweeter Music, featured a variety of choral works performed by a 25-member choir. Donna Greene-Burleson accompanied the group on piano.
In keeping with the choir's tradition, there was no admission charge for the concert. A large audience attended, and many non-perishables were collected for the Mount Gilead Food Pantry.
The choir's Christmas concert was followed by an open house at the Mount Gilead Museum.

The Mount Gilead Community Choir has presented a Christmas concert annually since its beginning in 1995. Occasionally, the choir will present an additional concert at some other time of year, or team up with church choirs for other programs.
Concert to be presented Dec. 1
The Mount Gilead Community Choir will present its 19th annual Christmas program on Sun., Dec. 1. Rehearsals are on Sundays at 3 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, Mount Gilead.
